California public schools face a severe budget crisis that worsens every year. Currently, California ranks 46 out of 50 in spending per pupil.
Children in the West Contra Costa Unified School District suffer deeply as a result of these ongoing budget cuts. West Contra Costa only spends $9,434 per pupil . When compared to the $37,000 per pupil that the Sausalito Marin City School District is able to allocate, it is clear how vital it is to infuse increased resources into our schools to ensure that students have everything they need to succeed.
To that end, we stand behind the following values:
We believe
all children deserve
the same opportunities.
We believe
teachers should have
support and recognition.
We believe
everyone should
have the chance to
go to college.
We believe
the community plays a
vital role in creating and sustaining great schools.
